music guy

who/why is this?

Hi, I'm some Dutch guy who's been absorbed by video game music for very long.
After around 12 years of playing very cool instruments (mostly drums, guitar, bass), I've finally made steps in the past couple of years to make my own stuff. This started off with making chiptunes in FamiTracker and Beepbox.co, because I've always found minimalistic retro sounds very charming!

I'm not the most knowledgeable musician on earth, but I really enjoy finding the right sound to add some more life to specific scenes!

projects

RGB (working title)august 2022 - present

I started working on a (mostly) solo game project, solely as an excuse to make more game music.
So far it's really helped me explore my sound more, and I love imagining different scenes to write music for!

I'm developing RGB in Unity, and it'll be a top-down RPG with bullet hell combat where you utilize the colours red, green and blue to complete puzzles. (It'll make sense eventually.)

Dialogue music for a very evil vampire man who I enjoy writing way too much.
(i picture him playing every instrument because no one else is capable enough)

Justice Realms:july 2022
Painting of Guidance

One of three games I worked on for a 72-hour game jam. Justice Realms is a narrative-driven JRPG with a variety of different areas and encounters, which meant a LOT of potential tracks.

Other musicians on the team handled the area music, while I ended up making the main theme and every enemy encounter track. (10 tracks! full playlist)

Boss battle music for the most regal Queen of Hearts.

Boss battle music for when you inevitably fight god.
I also made another version of this track for the Menu Theme!

Combat music for the Blue Zone, mostly inhabited by robotic things. Also your companion is scripted to instantly shred every enemy so I made the track as weird as possible.

Combat music for the Green Zone, which is green. Flutes are mandatory in Green Zones.

Cross Bossfebruary 2022

An unfinished project in collaboration with other hobby devs. The game would be set in an office environment and focuses on completing various minigames to make it through the day and advance through the many different departments of the company.

For the tracks I ended up making, I tried to capture the business-y office vibe, while throwing in some goofs that represent the main character's slightly more fantastical approach to things!

The Main Theme for the game! This was very fun to make because it really let me feel out the right sound for the whole project.
(also it ends weirdly because it's a loop)

Breakroom music for quiet dialog sections in between minigames.
